Our Story
Alex, our founder, has lived many lives in one. From the intensity of collegiate baseball to the precision of being a certified public accountant, from competing at the highest levels in CrossFit to the steadfast life of a farmer, husband, and father, through it all, one constant remained: a commitment to health and fitness.
The Stable Strength and Conditioning was born from this journey, a place where experience meets purpose. Every program is crafted to meet you where you are and guide you to where you aspire to be, with intention, expertise, and care.
Whether you’re chasing athletic excellence, improving your heart health, carving out an hour on a busy day, or simply keeping up with your grandkids, we are here to make it possible. At The Stable, every member’s journey is personal, every result is earned, and every achievement is shared.

Getting started is simple. Reach out through our contact form to schedule your free trial session with our owner or management team member. We will give you a tour of the facility, discuss your unique fitness goals, and give you a taste of The Stable programming. We will conclude the session with a discussion about what the best approach is for you within The Stable. For some this will be the Foundations Program, for others it will be group classes right away, and for others we will take a more hand-on approach by starting with personal training.

Our program is unlike any other gym in the area as we merge aspects of several different programs into one. It is most importantly, purposeful. We do not aimlessly program, chase trends or rely on generic templates, in fact every workout is hand written, revised and planned over months in advance.
Our strength work is done in cycles so we can work on safety, technique, and form in up to five core lifts within a 8-12 week time frame. We practice linear progression in all our lifts which allows our body to safely adapt.
Our conditioning work is creative, challenging, thoughtful, and most importantly fun (at least most of the time). No two workouts will ever be the same unless we are retesting to track progression. We draw from a range of disciplines, including CrossFit, Hyrox, bodybuilding, and gymnastics, to create a well-rounded and dynamic fitness experience and to give you one unique breed of fitness. Our conditioners have a specific purpose and how we achieve that purpose is different for everyone. Our staff is exceptional in their execution and whether you’re brand new, returning to fitness, balancing a busy life, or competing at a high level, they will ensure you’re supported with the right modifications and guidance to meet you at your current level.

Absolutely! The programming at The Stable is meant to challenge you and at times the specific purpose of our workout can be to expose our weaknesses. That might be cardio, weightlifting, or gymnastics; trust us, we are going to find at least one thing every single person struggles with.
That being said, our staff is well seasoned in making group classes feel personal. We meet you wherever you are in your fitness journey, which can vary based on the day, the workout, or just in life. We tailor our workouts through modifications to achieve a desired stimulus. For example, say you tore your ACL while skiing 3 months ago, are recovering from surgery, and we have squats and running in our workout for the day. Our staff would tailor the workout for you within the group class so you do not miss a beat! We might have you perform a press (bench press, strict press, etc.) instead of squatting and we would guide you through an arms-only bike or row instead of running.
The bottom line is the staff at The Stable loves a challenge and our goal is to make sure each and every member within our community is successful. All you have to do is walk through our doors and we will help guide you through a jam packed and challenging hour workout regardless of your starting point or limitations!
If you are committed to getting better, we are here to help you become the best version of yourself!

It's not cheap, but it's not expensive. Expensive implies it's overpriced. A gym membership that you pay for and never use is expensive. Our memberships are not cheap, but that's because what we do works and we stand by that.
The Stable programming is both time and labor intensive. The facility is top notch and properly maintained at all times. We treat every member with respect and care. We don't just stick you on a treadmill or watch you spin away like other gyms. Traditional gyms are cheap because only 11% of people show up, 89% never show up and end up subsidizing the ones that do. At The Stable, we flip the script; 85% of our athletes can't go two weeks without showing up and when they are on vacation they still try to follow our program because they do not want to miss out. We charge what we do because it works and you are worth it. The results speak for themselves. Give us the chance to prove your own growth and change to you.
QUESTIONS WE WISH
you would askWhat makes you different from other Gyms?
The thing to understand about The Stable is that it's really not like any other gym out there. Our programming is purposeful, thought out, and challenging. Our facility is meant to be a luxury experience and our staff is invested in your success not only in the gym, but in life as well. Some gyms may have one or two of these characteristics but none (at least in our area) has successfully encompassed all three.
What really separates us from other gyms is our programming. Our strength work was designed to mimic a division one collegiate sports strength program and our conditioning work was designed to encompass aspects of CrossFit, Hyrox, bodybuilding, gymnastics, etc. to give you one unique breed of fitness.
What makes us successful in our execution is our staff. In many ways, we live through the success of our members and most importantly we care about each member as an individual. We are all about quality and not quantity so we take the time to make sure each member is set up for success. Members are not just a number to us.
Everything we do at The Stable has a purpose. Every step we take is rooted in intention.
I genuinely want to get in shape, but I'm a serial drop out. Can you you help?
In our experience people drop out for at least 1 of 3 reasons:
They don't have a plan. They can make one up for a little while, but eventually they stall out and get bored.
They don't have a dedicated coach. This takes a lot of work and expertise. If you're figuring it out for yourself you'll make mistakes. You need to make it as easy on yourself as possible.
They don't have a team. Humans are social creatures. We crave community. We crave a tribe. The Stable is that tribe. A team of people who want you to be the best version of yourself.
That's why we've structured everything we do around providing those three elements. Because when you combine them you'll become an addict, not a drop out.
What should I bring to my first class?
We recommend a cross trainer shoe suitable for lifting and running. Classic running shoes have a thick bottom that isn’t stable enough for lifting, but lifters or strength shoes often are too flat to perform cardio in. Cross trainers balance both and allow you to perform well across all movement types. Other than the right athletic shoes, we just suggest comfortable workout clothes! We have drinks and food available for purchase as well as a water fountain for refillable bottles. There are private bathrooms with showers as well should you need to freshen up before heading off to your next commitment.
Is there a community aspect?
Yes! Community is a huge part of The Stable. Working out shouldn’t feel like the hardest part of your day, but it often can when you are forced to motivate yourself through it. Our environment is built on encouragement, accountability, and shared effort. Whether it’s your first class or your hundredth, you’ll be surrounded by people who support you and celebrate your progress.
Coaches and members alike create a welcoming, team-driven atmosphere where you’re never going through it alone. It’s what turns a workout into something more and it is what keeps people coming back.
what people are saying
“I cannot say enough good things about this gym….but the programming alone deserves a spotlight! Every workout is clearly thought out, purposeful, and challenging in the best way. You can tell there’s real intention behind how each cycle is structured.
Since joining, I’ve gotten noticeably stronger in lifts I used to avoid and been able to hit numbers I never thought I could. I even got skills I said I would never be able to obtain! It’s not random workouts—it’s smart, consistent and well throughout programming. If you’re looking for a gym where you’ll be pushed, supported, and actually see progress, this is the one!”
— Eve Clausen“As someone with very little prior athletic experience, I was a little nervous about starting a strength and conditioning program. However, the three-class Foundations program immediately made me feel more comfortable—not just with the movements, but with the gym as a whole.
Now, five years in, I’m still getting better and better thanks to the structure of the programming. The cycles are so intentional, and it’s incredibly motivating to see consistent progress in our lifts and workouts.”
— Jessica Klein“Alex is a fantastic coach and detail-oriented gym owner. Over the last few years, I’ve had the privilege of training with him and have been consistently impressed by the immense thought and care he puts into his programming and members.
If you’re looking for a place to challenge yourself, achieve your fitness goals, and be part of a supportive community, I couldn’t recommend The Stable more!”
